Camera Connections

RED Camera Link supports DSMC1, 2, and 3 cameras using the RCP and RCP protocols.

Physical

  • DSMC1 cameras can connect via LEMO to Ethernet cable, or WiFi via RCP Bridge
  • DSMC2 cameras can connect via LEMO to Ethernet cable or internal WiFi
  • DSMC3 cameras can connect via WiFi or ethernet with a USB-C converter

RCP1 Setup

The RCP1 protocol must be enabled in the camera. It can be acessed in Menu->Settings->Setup->Communication->Ethernet and enabling External Control.

The camera's IP address can also be found in the Communication->Ethernet menu:

You can also use the Ugland on-camera router to convert the ethernet connection info a WiFi connection for wireless operation

RCP2 Setup

Physical

  • RED V-Raptor cameras support ethernet via the USB-C port on the rear of the camera, using a USB-C to Ethernet adapter
  • Komodo cameras require the the KOMODO Link Adapter to add this USB-C port: https://www.red.com/red-komodo-link-adaptor

All DSMC2 cameras also natively support communication via WiFi.

The RCP2 protocol is enabled by default. The cameras IP address can be seen at Communication->Connections and selecting either USB-C or WiFi.
